An Appeal to the Young
by Peter Kropotkin
"It is to the young that I wish to address myself today. Let the old—I mean of course the old in heart and mind—lay the pamphlet down therefore without tiring their eyes in reading what will tell them nothing."
With these words, Kropotkin begins An Appeal to the Young, one of his earliest published anarchist writings. Outstanding for its freshness, directness, and simplicity, this work was described by its English translator H. M. Hyndman as "the best propagandist pamphlet that was ever penned." In a recent survey it was listed in the top five most important anarchist writings.
